Sound Clip Walnut
The turquoise inlay version of the Golden Eagle. A Lakota-style F sharp flute, six finger holes, great for solo play, slightly deeper in tone than the Redtail Hawk G flute. This key is used in many of the Native American flute recordings. Walnut, being a harder wood than cedar, has an exceptional tonal quality. The Golden Eagle has a melodic mystical voice. It includes a leather tie that you can use to cover the third hole from the top and play it as a five-hole flute as well as a six-hole flute. When comfortable just remove the leather tie and experience the use of the 6-hole. The Kestral in high F# plays along in key with this Golden Eagle.
Odell makes each Golden Eagle in Arizona from a solid piece of the finest walnut (instead of gluing two halves together as is so common) eliminating splits or separation caused by moisture of the breath. Each flute is finished with three coats of a non-toxic hardening oil for durability and clarity of sound, and it is precision-tuned so that it will blend perfectly with other instruments.
This High Spirits Flute also comes with an excellent DVDs with Beginner and Intermediate lessons that includes instructions on how to play the flute, use different techniques, how to care for it, and more. An instructional booklet including fingering charts is also included.
